The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center is pleased to announce that it will be offering a new support group for breast cancer patients and survivors starting September 12.
Brave at Heart 2 was added due to the popularity of the existing Brave at Heart Breast Cancer Support Group, which is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 7-9 p.m.
While there has been a great deal of interest in the Brave at Heart support group, the 7 p.m. meeting time did not work for everyone. To make the support group more widely available, the Brave at Heart group and Leever decided to add a second Brave at Heart option.
Brave at Heart 2 will be run by the same facilitator as the original Brave at Heart group, Anne Pringle, and will meet on the second Wednesday of every month from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
“We’re always looking for ways to accommodate the needs of our patients, and this was an opportunity to provide a second option for those of our patients that would rather meet during the day, or are unavailable or simply too tired to attend a support group in the evening,” said Deb Parkinson, operations director of the Leever Cancer Center.
