Leever Cancer Center to Host Mock Breast Cancer Conference

The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center will host a Mock Breast Cancer Conference on Wednesday, October 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event, which will be held at the HLRCC at 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, will offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how specialists collaborate to develop personalized breast cancer treatment plans.

Held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the program will recreate a multidisciplinary medical team meeting. Experts in breast surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology will review sample cases, share their perspectives, and discuss treatment options.

“Breast cancer treatment involves many decisions, and each patient’s situation is unique,” said Deborah Parkinson, Leever Interim Executive Director. “This program gives people an opportunity to see how specialists from different disciplines share their expertise and work together to develop a treatment plan tailored to each patient.”

Participating local breast surgeons include Dr. Elizabeth Riordan, Dr. Beth Sieling, Dr. Nicole Sookhan, and Dr. Caterina Aiello.

Light refreshments will be served at 5 p.m., and the program will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Registration is required by October 19. Register online, call 203-575-5585, or email pjaworski@leevercancercenter.org.
