Gena Borgman, APRN is a family nurse practitioner who has experience in pediatric oncology, rheumatology, and hematology. She graduated from the University of Memphis with her master's degree in nursing while working as a registered nurse at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH). She was offered a position as a nurse practitioner in the Solid Tumor Clinic at SJCRH. After five years she decided to move cross country to Long Island, New York to be closer to family. She worked as the primary care provider for Timothy Hill Children's Ranch which is a residential center comprised of group home and transitional troubled teens and young adults. Being from the South she did not realize that Long Island is really not close to CT (her family) and decided to move once again. She accepted a job in hematology with Yale New Haven Hospital at the Smilow Cancer Centers in North Haven and Waterbury. She needed more consistency for her kids so she broadened her horizons to rheumatology with Griffin Hospital. However, she has a passion for hematology and is excited to be back at the Smilow Cancer Center in Waterbury. She loves spending time with her husband and kids in the great outdoors.
