Radiation Therapist
SUMMARY
The Radiation Therapist provides high-energy ionized radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Works effectively in an interdisciplinary setting to assure safe treatment delivery, minimal side effects, and effective supportive care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver the planned course of radiation therapy in accordance with the prescription
- Assesses patient response and involves other team members as indicated
- Participates actively in the performance improvement of HLRCC
- Works effectively with other team members to provide ongoing patient education and support
- Participates in initial treatment simulation and continuous verification of accurate treatment fields
- Communicates effectively with others
- Participates in the community outreach activities of HLRCC as appropriate
- Participates in equipment evaluation and maintenance
